What exactly is it that you do? Motion graphics is a visual communication through animation, typography, live action footage and 3D, all of which are my passions. I dig traditional arts alot and I play the drums too.
What is Factory East? The name came from the location of one of my earliest video projects, a garment factory east side of town, also where my old band held rehearsals. The name symbolizes those humble beginnings as well as innovation and streamlined workflows.
Who do you work for?.. Who are your clients? I’ve been independently employed for over 10 years. My clients range from, but are not limited to globally recognized luxury retail, entertainment and media brands, ad agencies, broadcast networks, editorial houses and production companies.
How do you prefer to work? My preferred situation involves designing the concept and leading a team of skilled designer/ animators from start to finish. I am adaptable to many working environments at virtually any level of the creative process.
What are your skill sets...areas of focus? Jack of many trades. I’m hired in roles needing design, animation, 3D generalist, compositing, color/ grading, video production/editing, and content for interactive media.
What is your design process? This work can be complex. Lots of moving parts create many techincal problems. I take a hands-on, highly detailed and organized aproach. Propper planning and effective communication with clients are the keys to success. I begin designing in broad strokes, sketches and lots of research. Solid foundation makes the best structures. Moving into style frames and pre-visualization... defining look and feel of the art, movement, and finally compositing the finished product.
What are some of the softwares you use? Its a long list and constantly growing… Anything Adobe, After Effects tons.. Cinema 4D, Premiere, Final cut, Syntheyes, Davinci, LogicX, Flash... would like to learn Houdini at some point.
I have a project in mind. What’s the best way to reach you? Email or Phone are both the best ways to reach me.
